As a kid, I went to the local library pretty regularly and actually looked forward to my visits. There was a floor exclusively for kids and on top of shelves of kid’s books there was also a reading area with comfy chairs, toys and giant stuffed animals. My parents definitely contributed to the amount that I went to the library because it was probably a pretty easy way to keep me entertained while I did something that was good. Once I was a bit older, I stopped going to the library for fun altogether and really only visited when I needed to for school. Since I went to a small Montessori school, we didn’t have a library on campus so any time we needed to check out a book or do research, our teachers would help us navigate the library catalogue and get the books or resources that we needed.
